CAEA Member Update: Final Review of Constitution & Bylaws

In our ongoing journey to support your work and strengthen our organization, the CAEA State Council is now reviewing the final draft of our updated Constitution & Bylaws, the first major revision for member approval since 2017!

Timeline & What’s Happening
July 5 - July 20, 2025
Council members are reviewing the redlined draft and final document.

July 20th Council Meeting
At our next Council meeting, we'll vote on whether to move the draft forward for vote by membership.

July 28 – August 28, 2025
YOU will have the opportunity to vote via a secure e‑ballot on whether to ratify the amended document.


Why This Matters
Keeps CAEA legally current: State and federal nonprofit regulations change regularly; updating bylaws ensures we stay compliant.

Clarifies roles & processes: Clear guidance helps avoid confusion, keeps meetings efficient, and ensures everyone knows how decisions get made.

Strengthens trust & transparency: Bylaws help us be accountable and create stable governance that benefits all members.


What’s Next
1. Council Vote on July 20: We will formally vote to bring the final draft to the membership for vote.

2. Member Vote on July 28 – August 28, 2025: You’ll receive the draft, along with a plain-language summary, so you can review and vote confidently.

We’ll share the redlined draft and summary by July 28 in our Monthly Newsletter, giving you plenty of time (30 days) to look it over before the voting period begins.
